Make the Most of your mainstages Virtual Birthday Party!

A mainstages virtual birthday party is easy and all-inclusive: we handle most of the details so all you need to do is send out the zoom link to your guests and fill out our online customization form! However, if you want to, there are a few extra touches that will boost the hype on your child’s special day.

Here are 5 easy suggestions to put your party over the top!

Invite Your Guests (with Plenty of Time)

Once you receive your party’s zoom link from us, you should send it out ASAP to all your guests. This can be as simple as copying the pertinent meeting details from our confirmation email into the body of an email that you send out to your guests. For example:

(BIRTHDAY STAR'S NAME)'S BIRTHDAY ZOOM

  • HOST: Your NAME
  • RSVP: Your PHONE NUMBER
  • WHEN: DATE at TIME (include the time zone!
  • WHERE: COPY ZOOM LINK

OR you can kick it up a notch and send an email invitation through Evite or Paperless Post . You can even create your own with a simple design tool like Canva , the one we use for our own event promotions.

Make sure you include the time zone in your invitation email or graphic!

Make sure to track RSVP’s so you have a sense of who’s coming! Also (pro tip!), if you’re booking less than 10 days in advance of your party, consider sending a quick “save-the-date" to your invitees via text prior to sending the zoom link. We usually send the zoom link within 24 hours of receiving payment, but it’s nice to give as much advance notice as you can.

Plan Ahead for Special Moments

We always make sure to sing the Happy Birthday song at the end of the party (sound delays included . . . it’s essential!) You don’t need to have a birthday cake, but if you’d like to surprise the birthday star with one before the song, please let us know ahead of time so we can ensure a smooth transition. Likewise, if you are preparing any other special surprises (like time built-in with a family member, etc) make sure to let us know in advance so we can seamlessly incorporate them into your party.

Don’t Forget to Decorate

Virtual Birthday Parties are different from in-person parties in many ways, but one thing doesn’t have to change: the birthday decorations! We’ve seen parents decorate their house with all sorts of things. You can go with the usual suspects: streamers, balloons, signs. Or you could go the themed route and turn your home into, say, a mermaid wonderland or an elegant all-white throne fit for a (birthday) Queen! Another option with less expense (and cleanup) is a virtual background!

Get in Costume

The birthday star (and their guests) might want to know what to expect in terms of how to dress. Of course, we have no requirements when it comes to what you or your guests wear, but if the Birthday Star likes to dress up, it can be a fun way to make them feel special on their day. If you think your guests would be into it, you can also encourage them to dress up as well. If you decide to go this route, let us know, as our performers will want to tie this into the party!

Make the Most of Zoom

Zoom is an incredibly flexible platform that allows us to put on a great show and your guests to feel the party vibes from the safety of their homes. For those guests who you know may have some trouble with the tech side of things, check out this document we’ve put together with a few of the tips and tricks we’ve compiled since March. Your great aunt Elsie will appreciate it!

Zoom FAQs

Of course, none of these are must-haves. Once you’ve sent out the link and filled out the form, you can sit back and relax as you celebrate with your loved ones! Thanks for trusting mainstages with your special day-- we’re looking forward to a great party!
