Seeking In-Person Performers for Young Audiences

ABOUT THE JOB:

In-Person Performers in mainstages interactive shows are passionate about bringing theater to diverse communities of children.

We are looking for performers who are dynamic character actors with a contagious personality and innate ability to connect with children.

Our performers bring an abundant amount of energy and excitement to every performance and facilitate a safe and inclusive space for all participants.

Time Commitment:

In-person performances are held typically on weekday and weekend mornings and afternoons with the occasional evening performance.

Ideal Candidates:

• You enjoy highly interactive theater and have previous experience performing in youth theater, improv or hosting game shows.
• You are able to greet and interact with audiences of all ages in a professional manner.
• You are comfortable with set-up and breakdown of audio, visual and display equipment.
• You have a lot of energy, and an ability to excite and engage children no matter their mood.
• You are comfortable managing large groups of children.
• You are confident in your time management skills.
• You are organized and detail-oriented.
• You enjoy working as part of a team.

Applicants should be able to self-report to Astoria, Queens for vehicle and supplies pickup, and those with access to a vehicle are also strongly encouraged to apply.

PAY:

$100-200 per session depending on the number of performances. All performers are considered independent contractors.

We offer flexible scheduling, high per diem rates, and other growth opportunities.
